Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are combined for the Pas de Deux red wine from the Gaul winery. The palate is reminiscent of dark red berries, punctuated by a spicy note. Its body is powerful, with soft, supple tannins. It's an all-rounder that's perfect for many festive and casual occasions.
Climate and soil
From the stony and barren limestone soil of the vineyards in and around Asselheim.
Vinification
Traditional open mash fermentation, during which the mash (juice and grape skins) is regularly tamped down by hand with a pestle. After mash fermentation, the wines are placed in fine-pored French barriques (225l) for at least 18 months of maturation. Shortly before bottling, the different batches are blended to create the final cuvée.
