Longing for Heidelberg

You're sitting in the Heidelberg Castle Gardens with your picnic, an evening spent with a friend and lots of laughter. It's crowned by the breathtaking play of colors as the sun sets behind the Heiligenberg. It illuminates the castle, makes a window glow, colors the Baden flag, warms the Neckar River, and bathes the entire city in a sea of ​​red roofs.

That's what happened to me in the summer of 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic. I was sitting in the castle park with my picnic. Alone, but with company on the phone. And after a beautiful summer day, I was rewarded with this sunset. It had long been my dream to create a vintage travel poster for Heimat, and I had my camera with me that evening, too. I provided the perfect image to the graphic designer, and after months of fine-tuning together, we created this view. Your Heidelberg poster as a vintage travel poster.
